One of my favorite things about Korea is how much nature I’m able to see without actually leaving the city. It’s a giant city, and I can see so much just by an hour subway ride or so. Korea does such a great job with parks. They’re everywhere! They do particularly well with larger ones, such as Olympic Park. It’s nice just to see some trees and breathe in (somewhat clean or perceived as clean) air. In this case, it’s the Pink Muhly grass.
While beautiful, all I can say is good luck amongst all the other people out there! By the time I arrived a couple weeks ago, there were parts that were definitely trampled on, even though it was quartered off by a rope. Still, I was a huge fan of being able to see something pretty unique to me in my own city for free. It was just the perfect day all around.
So, yeah, next time you’re in Seoul in fall in search of beautiful natural things, here is one of them for sure. When you’re finsihed, you can have a nice picnic and absorb the rest of the afternoon sun. Go for a bit of a walk after to one of many all you can eat Korean bbq restaurants. You will have surely burned off all the calories wandering about Olympic park.
