A Floral Christmas & Reindeer Hot Chocolate

So tis the season for everything sparkly and festive. While those back home might think Christmas is mainly a Western thing, they couldn’t be further from the truth. Many Koreans are Christian and celebrate Christmas.

However, while they celebrate as more of a couples holiday, there’s still tons of decor all over Seoul. Also, just like in typical Seoul fashion, you can’t walk more than a few blocks without finding a themed or at least super aesthetically pleasing cafe. Here’s where The Piola comes in.

The Piola is kind of like a 3 in 1. It’s a flower shop, actual cafe (no plain Americanos here only), and apparently there are floral arranging classes you can take there (which to be honest I don’t know too much about).

What sets this cafe apart though are their attention to Christmasey detail and drinks. You feel miniscule amongst their spectacular Christmas tree. Even their cacti are adorned with little Santa hats, enhancing the feeling that you are truly in a floral Winter Wonderland.

Also, let’s not forget how it’s the perfect place to get in some festive photos (alongside your picturesque drink!) Did I mention this place smells absolutely incredible (as it is a first and foremost a florist)?! You get to look great, take good photos, and be around gorgeous plants (a nice respite from Seoul’s air pollution).

As for the drinks, they were totally worth it. This place is an all around win. It’s right near the DDP, and you can check out their Instagram here.
