On my day trip to Arashiyama, I was told that the monkeys were a must see. This was definitely true. The Iwatayama Monkey Park is good exercise, scenic, and adorable.
It’s about a $5USD entrance fee. Be prepared to climb endless stairs! (At least there are some benches scattered around.)
I found this on my never ending stair journey. All I thought was, “Dear God, Please don’t let them attack me. I’m a sensitive soul. Amen.”
Alas, refuge! You can go inside and sit. There are refreshments, and in classic Japanese fashion, a toilet that cares about you.
Roaming free!
But that’s not all! You can feed monkeys from inside.
Aww, it’s a little baby!
This was incredibly fun! I could have stayed here all day, but there were tons of other sights awaiting.
There’s also a great view from here, although it was overcast when I went so my picture doesn’t do it much justice.
Spotted these two cuddlers on the walk down. What a perfect send off!
